What else can I try when trying to conceive?

Mar 8, 2021

This week we are talking about other things you could try in the initial stages of trying to get pregnant. We talk about the Mosie Baby syringe and the Fertility cervical cap and Kate gives her professional opinion. Mosie Baby was a conversation I had a good few years ago which you can hear here.

Our main interview is a conversation with Laura Hobson, a fertility awareness educator and she is the facilitator of The Body Literacy Collective, a UK non-profit that equips people with the information and tools they need to understand their menstrual cycles.

Laura has facilitated the development of a menstrual cycle charting app called Read Your Body, which can be used by people who are trying to avoid or achieve pregnancy or gain health insights.

The app is so interesting and it has total data privacy, is very customisable in terms of tracking options and constantly growing with everyone’s input. The Read Your Body app is a growing set of tools & learning resources designed to help you get to know your body and develop a confident, autonomous, effective menstrual cycle charting practice and is Kate’s ‘go to App of choice’ for women TTC as it is more accurate than the other apps.

You can check it out here and follow on Instagram.

Now, Kate has offered a 1:1 consultation with her, if you are the first person to email her and put: FertilityPod in your subject. Her email is kate@yourfertilityjourney.com

Here are some other really great fertility educators who work with Read Your Body to check out:

Jessie Brebner is a fertility awareness educator who is passionate about normalising discussions around cervical fluid, and has an educational video course for people who want to understand their cycles while trying to conceive.

Zainab Alradhi is a fertility awareness educator with a bilingual platform that creates a safe space for Arabic-speaking women to connect on topics of reproductive health, menstrual cycles, ovulation, sex and sustainability. She’s also a beta tester of the Read Your Body app.

Niswa (also available in English) is a fertility awareness initiative reaching out to Arabic-speaking women. Zainab (the founder/facilitator) is also a beta tester of the Read Your Body app.

Nina Haley is a fertility awareness educator and cycle-syncing yoga teacher based in Kuwait. She is also a beta tester of the Read Your Body app.

I’d always advise you to seek out support from people like this rather than getting lost in the rabbit holes of social media and if you have any questions please do send them to info@thefertilitypodcast.com
